Watford FC sign Congolese Ugandan affiliated midfielder

English top flight club Watford took to their social media handles to unveil their new signing Edo Kayembe.

Kayembe who is of Congolese descent was signed from Belgian side KAS Eupen and plays as a midfielder.

The 23 year old will be wearing the no 39 jersey as revealed by the Hornets.

Kayembe’s announcement saw Ugandans flock the club’s social media handles since he has close ties to Uganda.

He studied from Kasese Secondary School and just like most Congolese on the Ugandan border with the country lived in the country for some time.

Some even begged him to switch allegiance and start playing for the Cranes while others pledged to start supporting the relegation threatened club.

Kayembe has so far played 8 times for the DRC national team and featured regularly for the U23 team.

He made his senior debut for the national team dubbed the Leopards in the 1-1 draw friendly game against Algeria.
